We always thought that we would get married at Bright. It has been a favourite weekend getaway spot for a long time! We love the mountains (hence our Canadian honeymoon) and we frequently travel to Bright from East Gippsland to spend the days either side at Hotham.
Courtney, the Celebrations Manager at Feathertop Winery, was able to provide us with a package to suit our budget to make our dream wedding a reality.
From the beginning of the process, Courtney let us know that Jason was her preferred photographer with good reason. We met Jason for the first time at our ceremony rehearsal but it felt like we’d met him much earlier as he was so lovely to communicate with over the phone. Just a quick note on the rehearsal – I think everyone cried almost as much as on the wedding day!
We decided to have a ‘first look’ before our ceremony to maximise the amount of time that we could spend with our guests. We didn’t want to be hosting a party and not be there for it! As our ceremony was quite early in the day, things were a little bit rushed – but we were so grateful to have our amazing bridal party, families and vendors to keep us on track with a natural feel.
Almost everything ran according to plan and we had an amazing day! My goal was to not let the little things stress me out because no one else would notice anyway, and I still think that’s true. I wouldn’t say that I was a completely relaxed bride, but I think I did an ok job at keeping calm.
Our MC (Brennan) was full of surprises and all of our guests have said how much they loved all of the speeches, stretches and entertainment. Having Waz play ‘Latch’ on his guitar for my entry was another highlight for the two of us… Amazing vocals! Our other favourite parts of the day were seeing each other at the first look, hearing our surprise vows for the first time, the delicious pork belly, and boogying to our song.
Both of our parents have said that our wedding day was one of the happiest days of their lives. It means so much to us that they enjoyed the day as much as us. Michael and I constantly wonder how it is possible for us to love each other as much as we do, so we hope that we got to show our guests a bit of that.
We can’t wait to see our wedding photos when we get back from our honeymoon! You can also check out our wedding video from Tim Brown here for a different perspective on the day. Thanks heaps Jason and team!
