Congratulations to Pip & Tayler on their stunning Winter Snow Wedding at Dinner Plain, Mt. Hotham Victoria.
Thank you for allowing us to capture your day and we hope your images provide many happy memories for years to come.
Thank you to Pip & Tayler for sharing the story of your day:
Winter is my favourite season and as a snow boarder I just love the snow. So it came as no surprise to my family and friends when I wanted to have a Scandinavian-themed, white winter wedding at Dinner Plain (in the Victorian Alps). While Tayler also enjoys a bit of snowboarding, he is not so fond of the cold, but thankfully agreed.
Our dream of an outdoor wedding “in the snow” was looking grim the day before the wedding, with recent warmer weather and insane rain melting most of the snow. Fortunately, mother nature came to our rescue, dumping lots of snow the night before our wedding. As hoped, we were able to have our outdoor wedding in a white winter wonderland, in minus 4 degrees, with a few snowflakes floating around.
Our wolfpack played a large part in our day. We have 3 beautiful fur children – one year old Lucian, two year old Thora and three year old Vladimir who were all part of our bridal party. Lucian (Siberian Husky X German Shepherd) walked down the aisle with a cute sign saying “here comes my Mum”. Thora (Siberian Husky) was my flower girl and Vladimir (Siberian Husky) walked down the aisle with me. Some of our friends also brought their huskies to our wedding, which was great.
In the evening, we were joined by our 110 guests for a reception at Hotel High Plains, Dinner Plain. Coming in out of the cold, our guests were warmed up by hot chocolate and home-made cookies during “cocoa hour”. A tapas style dinner followed and then guests helped themselves to a dessert buffet as “the sweetest way to end the sweetest day”. Our 2 tier wedding cake, by Cakes on Cambridge, Wangaratta featured a tier of white chocolate mud cake and a tier of red velvet chocolate cake. Our 3 dogs, handcrafted in fondant, took pride of place beside the cake.
We were so happy with our photographer Jason and his assistant Justin. While their photos are amazing and prove their creative and photographic genius, they exceeded our expectations with their amazing service, attending our rehearsal with lots of helpful tips, joining us for drinks to discuss how our day would go and what photos we wanted, ferrying me (Pip) to and from the hairdressers before the wedding and then driving us to photo locations after the wedding. We can't thank them enough for their patience and expertise and the beautiful lasting memories they have given us through their photos.
After our wedding, we stayed on in Dinner Plain to spend time with some of our bridal party, family and friends. We are planning to honeymoon in Canada at a later date. Looking back on it, our wedding day went far too fast. Not everything went exactly to plan but that’s OK. We still got to have our wedding in the snow!
